Marie O’Gorman may not be able to fly because of a medical condition, but she still has the world at her fingertips. Crowned the ‘Most Dedicated IT Learner’ in 2009′s inaugural Silver Surfer awards, Marie, has no intention of stopping any time soon. With 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, O’Gorman, with the help of Age Action, has no problem keeping in touch with her extended family, whether they are in Kildare or Armenia. Certainly this is a trend that we see here at Be Independent Home Care, many of our clients who we provide homecare services to are well able to find their way around a desktop or Smartphone and certainly ipads prove hugely popular with our older clients. On a visit to one of our 85year old clients just yesterday she remarked how she no longer buys the newspaper as there is no need now that she reads it on her ipad !
