Alice Lucey - Director
Alice Lucey has overall responsibility for the provision of the highest possible quality of care at Be Independent Home Care. Alice has spent all of her career working in the healthcare and the social care sector. A registered nurse, having trained in the Mater Hospital in Dublin, Alice initially worked in the care of the elderly in Ireland, the UK and Australia and then she went on to complete an honours degree in social care work.
Alice then worked as a Senior Social Care worker with young adults and worked proactively in preparing care plans for each young person, helping to support the young person to re-integrate back home or to move toward independent living. Alice then went on to work as a project worker in Focus Ireland, working with those who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. Here she managed case loads of clients and provided keyworking to individuals and families, providing clear and precise advice on accommodation, housing, social welfare, legal rights and other services as required.
Alice was then appointed as Project Leader of the service, with full responsibility of managing the performance of the team by upholding best practice in relation to resourcing, performance management and complying with legal requirements on all aspects of employment, recruitment, supervision, health safety and welfare, training and development. She also held full responsibility for the day to day operations of the service.
